A quick and easy recipe for light and crispy air popped popcorn that is healthy, versatile, and perfect for snacking or movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup popcorn kernels (about 50 grams)
  • Salt (fine sea salt or kosher salt) to taste
  • Optional: 1-2 teaspoons olive oil or melted butter
  • Optional: Seasonings such as nutritional yeast, cinnamon sugar, or smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Measure 1/4 cup (about 50 grams) of popcorn kernels.
  2. Preheat the air popper for about 30 seconds.
  3. Pour the kernels into the popping chamber without overfilling.
  4. Place a large bowl underneath to catch the popcorn as it pops.
  5. Let the popping finish when the popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops (usually 2-3 minutes), then turn off the machine.
  6. Immediately transfer popcorn to a large bowl and sprinkle with salt.
  7. If desired, drizzle 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil or melted butter and toss well to coat evenly.
  8. Add optional seasonings such as nutritional yeast, cinnamon sugar, or smoked paprika and toss gently.
  9. Serve immediately for the crispiest texture.

Notes

Use fresh, high-quality popcorn kernels for best results. Do not overfill the popping chamber to avoid unpopped kernels. Season immediately after popping while popcorn is hot to ensure seasoning sticks without sogginess. For stovetop or microwave methods, texture may vary slightly. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain crispiness. Reheat gently in a dry pan if needed.
