This recipe delivers quick, easy, and elegant garlic butter lobster tails perfect for date nights or special occasions, featuring tender lobster meat infused with garlicky butter and a touch of lemon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lobster tails (about 68 ounces / 170225 grams each) – fresh or thawed frozen
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Lobster Tails (10 minutes): Rinse lobster tails under cold water and pat dry. Using sharp kitchen shears or a small serrated knife, cut down the center of the top shell, stopping before the tail fin. Pry the shell open to expose the meat, lift the meat slightly and rest it on top of the shell.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter (5 minutes): In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir until fragrant and well mixed.
  3. Brush the Lobster (2 minutes): Using a silicone basting brush, generously coat the lobster meat with the garlic butter mixture, reserving some for basting during cooking.
  4. Preheat the Broiler: Set oven broiler to high and position the rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
  5. Broil the Lobster Tails (8-10 minutes): Place lobster tails on a foil-lined baking sheet or broiler pan. Broil for 4-5 minutes, baste with more garlic butter, then broil another 4-5 minutes until meat is opaque and firm. Watch carefully to avoid overcooking.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over lobster tails, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

If broiler is intense, lower rack or broil in shorter intervals checking often. For dairy-free, substitute butter with vegan butter or olive oil. Frozen lobster tails should be thawed overnight in fridge. Avoid microwave reheating to prevent tough meat. Let lobster rest 1-2 minutes after broiling for juicy texture.
