A quick and easy recipe featuring lobster tails basted with a luscious honey garlic butter sauce, perfect for an indulgent yet simple meal for two.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lobster tails, about 6-8 ounces (170225 grams) each (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • 4 tablespoons (60 grams) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey (raw or mild-flavored)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the lobster tails (10 minutes): Using sharp kitchen shears, cut down the top shell of each lobster tail, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pry the shell apart and lift the meat up, laying it on top of the shell. Pat the meat dry with paper towels.
  2. Make the honey garlic butter (5 minutes): In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, honey, and fresh lemon juice. Mix well until fully incorporated. Add smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to taste.
  3. Preheat the broiler: Set your oven broiler to high and position the rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
  4. Butter the lobster tails (3 minutes): Using a basting brush, generously coat each lobster tail meat with the honey garlic butter mixture. Reserve some butter for basting during cooking.
  5. Broil the lobster tails (8-10 minutes): Place the lobster tails on a broiler pan or baking dish. Broil for 4-5 minutes, then baste with more butter. Broil another 4-5 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and reaches an internal temperature of about 140°F (60°C).
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

Keep an eye on the lobster while broiling to avoid overcooking. Use softened butter for easy mixing. If no broiler is available, bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes. For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with coconut oil or vegan butter. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated gently in a low oven.
