A show-stopping charcuterie board shaped like a football helmet, complete with a face mask made of prosciutto and a field of pepperoni ‘grass’. It’s the ultimate game day centerpiece that’s as fun to make as it is to eat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (about 8 oz) mixed deli meats (salami, pepperoni, prosciutto)
  • 2 cups (about 8 oz) assorted cheeses (sharp cheddar, gouda, mozzarella balls)
  • 1 cup crackers or crostini
  • 1/2 cup green olives or pickles
  • 1 cup fresh veggies (baby carrots, celery sticks, bell pepper strips)
  • 1/2 cup dips (ranch dressing or honey mustard)
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme, optional)

Instructions

  1. Create the Helmet Outline: Place crackers in a U-shape on the board to form the bottom edge of the helmet (jawline). Use about 15-20 crackers in a gentle curve. Add another row above, slightly overlapping, to create the face mask area, leaving a gap in the middle for the face opening.
  2. Build the Crown: Fold salami slices in half and arrange them in overlapping rows, starting from the top of the head (crown) and working down. Use about 20-25 slices to cover the top half of the board.
  3. Add the Face Mask: Lay 3-4 pepperoni slices vertically across the face opening, then 2-3 slices horizontally to create a criss-cross pattern mimicking a football helmet’s face mask.
  4. Insert the Ear Pads: Place mozzarella balls (or small cubes of cheddar) on either side of the helmet where ear holes would be.
  5. Add the Rivets & Vents: Scatter green olives or pickles along the top ridge of the helmet (crown) and around the ear pads.
  6. Create the Field: If using green parchment paper, place it at the bottom of the board under the helmet. Arrange baby carrots and celery sticks in rows to look like yard lines. Place the small bowl of dip in the center of the field.
  7. Fill the Gaps: Fill any empty spaces with extra crackers, nuts, or small clusters of grapes to make the board look full and abundant.

Notes

Take a photo before anyone starts eating! The board looks its best right after assembly. Keep a small plate of extra ingredients nearby to refill as the board gets depleted. For best results, keep the board cold and take it out 15 minutes before serving.
