A simple, creamy, and satisfying no-cook breakfast made with just five basic ingredients. Perfect for busy mornings, this recipe requires only 5 minutes of prep and delivers a delicious, healthy meal that tastes like dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 medium ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup milk of choice (e.g., unsweetened almond milk)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mash the ripe banana in a jar or mixing bowl until mostly smooth.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of creamy peanut butter to the mashed banana.
  3. Pour in 1 cup of your chosen milk.
  4. Add 1 cup of old-fashioned rolled oats and a pinch of salt.
  5. Stir everything together until well combined, ensuring no dry pockets of oats remain.
  6. Cover the jar or container tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. In the morning, stir the oats. Enjoy cold or microwave for 45-60 seconds if you prefer warm oats.
  8. Add optional toppings like banana slices, extra peanut butter, cinnamon, or chia seeds before serving.

Notes

Use a very ripe banana with brown spots for natural sweetness. If making a batch for the week, add an extra 1-2 tablespoons of milk per serving to prevent oats from becoming too thick. For best texture, do not overmix. Let oats rest at room temperature for 10 minutes before eating if possible. Add toppings in the morning, not at night, to keep them fresh.
