This creamy, spicy, and utterly delicious buffalo chicken dip is the ultimate comfort food. Made with simple ingredients like cream cheese, shredded chicken, and buffalo sauce, it’s perfect for game day, potlucks, or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chives or green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Let cream cheese sit out to soften.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer or wooden spoon until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  3. Add buffalo wing sauce and ranch dressing to the cream cheese. Mix until fully combined.
  4. Fold in shredded chicken, half of the shredded cheddar cheese, all of the mozzarella cheese, and crumbled blue cheese (if using). Add garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until evenly distributed.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9-inch pie dish or small baking dish. Spread into an even layer.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until hot and bubbly around the edges and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden. For a browner top, broil for 1-2 minutes, watching closely.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped chives or green onions.

Notes

For a smoother dip, ensure cream cheese is fully softened. Shred chicken finely for best texture. Taste and adjust buffalo sauce to your preferred spice level. Let dip rest after baking to set. Can be made in a slow cooker on low for 2 hours. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 4 days; reheat in oven or microwave. Not recommended for freezing.
