This Quick Caramel Apple Cider Sangria comes together in under fifteen minutes, uses simple ingredients, and tastes like you’ve been simmering it all day. The caramel adds a rich, buttery depth that transforms the drink into a luxurious fall treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 2 cups apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (thick, dessert-style)
  • 1/4 cup apple brandy or Calvados (optional)
  • 1 large apple (Honeycrisp or Fuji), thinly sliced
  • 1 pear (Bosc or Anjou), thinly sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash the apple and pear thoroughly. Cut the apple in half, remove the core, and slice into thin half-moons, about 1/4 inch thick. Do the same with the pear.
  2. Measure out 1/2 cup of caramel sauce into a small microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 15-20 seconds until pourable but not hot.
  3. Pour the bottle of white wine into a large pitcher. Add the apple cider and apple brandy (if using). Stir gently to combine.
  4. Slowly pour the warmed caramel sauce into the pitcher while stirring continuously until fully incorporated.
  5. Gently drop in the apple and pear slices, followed by the cinnamon stick. Stir once more to distribute the fruit.
  6. For best flavor, let the sangria sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the fruit to soak up the wine and caramel.
  7. Fill glasses with ice if desired, then pour the sangria over the ice, making sure each glass gets some fruit slices. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and a thin apple slice on the rim.

Notes

For best flavor, let the sangria rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Use a dry white wine to balance the sweetness. Warm the caramel sauce before adding to prevent clumping. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; remove cinnamon stick after 24 hours.
