A quick and easy caramel apple dip made with cream cheese, brown sugar, and caramel sauce. Perfect for weeknights, parties, and last-minute cravings, this creamy, sweet, and tangy dip comes together in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (226g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) store-bought or homemade caramel sauce
  • Flaky sea salt (optional but highly recommended)
  • 45 medium apples, sliced for dipping
  • Optional mix-ins: chopped pecans or walnuts, mini chocolate chips, or crushed pretzels

Instructions

  1. Take your cream cheese out of the fridge and unwrap it. Place it in your mixing bowl and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Using your hand mixer on medium speed, beat the cream cheese for about 1 minute, until it’s completely smooth and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with your spatula halfway through.
  3. Add the packed brown sugar and the salt to the bowl. Beat on low speed first so the sugar doesn’t fly everywhere, then increase to medium and beat for another 2 minutes until smooth and the sugar has mostly dissolved.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Beat on low speed until the cream is incorporated, then increase to medium and beat for about 1 minute. The dip will get lighter and fluffier. Scrape down the bowl again.
  5. Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning if needed (e.g., more salt or vanilla).
  6. Transfer the cream cheese mixture to your serving dish and spread it into an even layer with your spatula. Use the back of a spoon to create a few swirls and dips.
  7. Pour the caramel sauce over the top, starting in the center and letting it spread outward. Use the back of the spoon to gently swirl the caramel into the cream cheese, creating a marbled effect. Don’t overmix.
  8. If using flaky salt, sprinkle it lightly over the top. Add any other toppings now (chopped nuts, chocolate chips, crushed pretzels). Press them in gently so they stick.
  9. For the best texture, cover the dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. If in a rush, serve immediately—it’ll just be a little softer.
  10. Just before serving, slice your apples into wedges about 1/2-inch thick. To prevent browning, toss them in a bowl with a little lemon juice and water. Arrange the apple slices around the dip on the serving plate. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature cream cheese. The dip can be made up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated. Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving. If dip is too thin, chill for 30 minutes to firm up. If too thick, beat in a tablespoon of heavy cream. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Do not freeze.
