This Festive Cranberry Apple Punch is a quick and easy party drink that comes together in under 10 minutes with simple ingredients. The tartness of cranberry, sweetness of apple, and warm hints of cinnamon and cloves create a cozy, crowd-pleasing beverage perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cranberry juice (100% juice, not cocktail)
  • 3 cups apple juice (unfiltered preferred)
  • 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (plus extra for garnish)
  • 4 whole cloves (or 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves)
  • 1 large apple, thinly sliced (Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries (for garnish)
  • 3 cups ginger ale or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes (preferably large cubes)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spice infusion (15 minutes before serving): In your pitcher or punch bowl, combine the cranberry juice, apple juice, and orange juice. Add the cinnamon sticks and whole cloves. Stir gently, then let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  2. Sweeten to taste: If using honey or maple syrup, warm it slightly in the microwave for 10 seconds to make it easier to stir. Add it to the juice mixture and stir until completely dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness.
  3. Slice the fruit: Thinly slice your apple and orange into rounds, about 1/4-inch thick. Remove any seeds from the apple slices. Leave the peel on both fruits.
  4. Add the fruit and cranberries: Gently drop the apple slices, orange slices, and fresh or frozen cranberries into the juice mixture. Stir once more to distribute everything evenly.
  5. Chill thoroughly (at least 30 minutes): Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours. This step is crucial—the flavors need time to meld together.
  6. Add the fizz just before serving: When you’re ready to serve, remove the cinnamon sticks (or leave one in for visual appeal). Gently pour in the ginger ale or sparkling water. Stir slowly to combine, being careful not to lose too much carbonation.
  7. Serve over ice: Fill glasses with large ice cubes and pour the punch over the top. Make sure each glass gets a few fruit slices and cranberries for that gorgeous presentation.

Notes

For best flavor, let the spices infuse for at least 15 minutes. Remove whole cloves after 30 minutes to prevent overpowering. Add ginger ale just before serving to keep the fizz. For a non-alcoholic version, use sparkling apple cider instead of ginger ale. For a grown-up version, add 1 cup of vodka, bourbon, or spiced rum.
