A quick and easy recipe for grilled corn on the cob glazed with a sweet and smoky honey butter, perfect for summer gatherings and backyard barbecues.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ears fresh corn on the cob, husked and cleaned
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional but recommended)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Husk the corn and remove all silk threads. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, honey, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F or 190°C).
  4. Using a basting brush, generously coat each ear of corn with the honey butter glaze.
  5. Place the corn directly on the grill grates. Turn every 3-4 minutes to cook evenly, for about 15-18 minutes total. After each turn, brush on more honey butter glaze.
  6. Check for doneness by piercing a kernel with a fork; it should be tender with a bit of snap and lightly charred in spots.
  7. Remove the corn from the grill and let it rest for a minute. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

Use softened butter for easy mixing and spreading. Brush the honey butter glaze multiple times during grilling to build layers of flavor and prevent burning by managing grill temperature and turning often. If glaze starts to burn, lower heat or move corn to a cooler part of the grill. Fresh corn is preferred but frozen corn can be used if thawed. For a vegan version, substitute butter with plant-based butter and honey with maple syrup.
