A refreshing and easy-to-make snack featuring frozen melon and cucumber skewers sprinkled with zesty lime Tajín seasoning. Perfect for hot days, parties, or a light dessert with a spicy twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 honeydew or cantaloupe melon, firm and ripe, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 English cucumber, peeled and sliced into 1-inch chunks or half-moons
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Tajín seasoning, to taste
  • Wooden skewers (6-inch length)

Instructions

  1. Slice the melon into roughly 1-inch cubes and peel and slice the cucumber into similar-sized chunks or half-moons.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the melon and cucumber pieces with 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Thread pieces of melon and cucumber alternately onto each skewer, using about 4-5 pieces per skewer.
  4. Place the assembled skewers on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure they do not touch.
  5. Freeze the skewers for at least 2 hours or until fully frozen.
  6. Once frozen, sprinkle the skewers generously with Tajín seasoning and lime zest before serving.

Notes

Add Tajín seasoning just before serving to keep the flavor fresh and avoid clumping. Use firm, ripe fruit for best texture. If skewers stick together, rinse briefly under cold water to separate. Optional: brush melon with honey or agave before freezing for a creamier touch. Can substitute Tajín with chili powder, lime zest, and sea salt.
