These Halloween Fruit Kabobs are a fun, light, and healthy treat perfect for parties. They feature colorful fruit threaded on skewers with a creamy yogurt dip, and are quick to assemble with no baking required.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Clementines or mandarin oranges, peeled and separated into segments (about 2-3 per kabob)
  • Blackberries
  • Green grapes
  • Red or purple grapes
  • Kiwi, peeled and sliced into rounds or half-moons
  • Melon (cantaloupe or honeydew), cut into small shapes using cookie cutters
  • Strawberries, hulled and halved or quartered
  • Banana slices (add just before serving to prevent browning)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk (any kind, to thin dip)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yogurt dip: In a small mixing bowl, combine 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon. Whisk until smooth and creamy. If the dip is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk, one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches a drizzling consistency. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Cover and refrigerate while you prep the fruit.
  2. Wash and dry all fruit: Rinse the berries, grapes, and any other fruit under cool water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  3. Prep the melon shapes: If using melon, cut it into 1/2-inch thick slices. Use Halloween-shaped cookie cutters to press out fun shapes. Set the shapes aside on a plate.
  4. Cut remaining fruit: Peel and segment the clementines. Hull and halve or quarter the strawberries. Peel and slice the kiwi into rounds or half-moons. Slice the banana just before assembling to prevent browning. Keep all fruit pieces roughly the same size—about 1-inch chunks.
  5. Assemble the kabobs: Take a wooden skewer and start threading the fruit. Create patterns (e.g., blackberry, clementine segment, melon ghost, grape, repeat). Leave about 1 inch of empty space at the bottom of the skewer for handling. Aim for 5-7 pieces per skewer.
  6. Arrange on a serving platter: Place the assembled kabobs on a large tray or platter. Place the bowl of yogurt dip in the center or on the side.
  7. Garnish and serve: If desired, sprinkle a little cinnamon or a few pomegranate seeds over the dip. Serve immediately. The kabobs are best enjoyed within an hour of assembly.

Notes

Soak wooden skewers in water for 10 minutes before using to prevent splintering. For best results, assemble kabobs no more than an hour before serving. The yogurt dip can be made up to 3 days in advance. For a vegan version, use coconut yogurt and maple syrup. To prevent banana slices from browning, dip them in a mixture of 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 cup water for 30 seconds before threading.
