Juicy, tender lobster tails grilled to perfection with a rich garlic butter infused with fresh herbs and lemon zest. A quick and easy recipe that feels luxurious without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized lobster tails (68 ounces / 170225 g each), fresh or thawed frozen
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, for brushing lobster shells

Instructions

  1. Rinse the lobster tails under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Using sharp kitchen shears, carefully cut down the center of the top shell, stopping just before the tail fin. Pry the shell open gently and loosen the lobster meat, lifting it slightly and resting it on top of the shell.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and fragrant.
  4. Lightly brush the outside shells of the lobster tails with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the exposed lobster meat, saving some for basting during grilling.
  6. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat (around 400°F / 200°C). Clean grates well.
  7. Place lobster tails meat side down on the grill for 3-4 minutes to sear.
  8. Flip tails meat side up and continue grilling for another 4-6 minutes, basting with remaining garlic butter every couple of minutes. Lobster is done when meat is opaque and firm (140°F internal temperature).
  9. Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes to lock in juices.
  10. Serve hot with extra garlic butter on the side.

Notes

Do not overcook lobster to avoid rubbery texture. Use fresh garlic for best flavor. Butter should be softened but not melted before mixing. If no grill is available, use broiler or grill pan indoors and watch cooking time closely. For dairy-free option, substitute butter with vegan butter or olive oil.
