A quick and easy frozen cherry limeade margarita recipe perfect for summer, combining tart lime juice, sweet cherries, and smooth tequila for a refreshing icy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (150 grams) frozen pitted dark sweet cherries
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila blanco
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) simple syrup
  • 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes
  • Salt for rimming the glass (optional)
  • Lime wedges and fresh cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your margarita glass, then dip it into a shallow plate of salt. Set aside to dry while you blend the drink.
  2. Squeeze about 1/4 cup (60 ml) of fresh lime juice.
  3. Add 1 cup (150 g) frozen cherries, 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila blanco, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) simple syrup, 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lime juice, and 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes into a blender.
  4. Pulse initially to break up the chunks, then blend on high for about 30-45 seconds until the mixture is thick and slushy. If too thick, add a splash of cold water and blend again; if too thin, add more ice.
  5. Pour the frozen cherry limeade margarita into the salted glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and a fresh cherry.

Notes

Use frozen cherries for a thicker, colder drink without watering down the flavor. Fresh lime juice is essential for brightness. Adjust sweetness by adding more simple syrup if desired. Salt rim is optional but recommended. Chill glasses before serving for best results. For a non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and add sparkling water.
