A light, bubbly, and perfectly balanced mocktail combining tart lime, sweet blueberries, and refreshing mint with a playful fizz, ideal for summer refreshment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (150g)
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • 3 medium fresh limes (about ½ cup or 120ml fresh lime juice)
  • ½ cup simple syrup (120ml)
  • 3 cups sparkling water (720ml)
  • Ice cubes (preferably large)
  • Optional: fresh blueberries and mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a sturdy pitcher, add the fresh mint leaves and blueberries. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to gently press them just enough to release juices and aroma—about 20 seconds. Avoid crushing the leaves to bits.
  2. Pour in the fresh lime juice (about ½ cup or 120ml) and the simple syrup (½ cup or 120ml). Stir gently to combine all the flavors.
  3. Let the mixture sit in the fridge for 5-10 minutes to marry the flavors and chill slightly (optional but recommended).
  4. Just before serving, pour in the sparkling water (3 cups or 720ml). Stir gently to keep the bubbles intact. Avoid vigorous stirring or shaking.
  5. Fill glasses with ice cubes. Large cubes work best to slow dilution.
  6. Pour the mocktail into glasses through a fine mesh strainer if you want to keep pulp and mint bits out (optional). Garnish with a sprig of mint and a few whole blueberries.

Notes

Use gentle pressure when muddling mint to avoid bitterness. Fresh lime juice is essential for brightness. Add sparkling water last and stir gently to preserve fizz. Keep sparkling water chilled until serving. Adjust sweetness by varying simple syrup amount. Store base mixture refrigerated up to 2 days, add sparkling water and ice before serving.
